FAQ About the Store

FAQ About the Store

Can I pre-order cupcakes?

Yes. All orders placed by 5 p.m. EST will be ready to be devoured the next day.

Can I pick up my order at the Chelsea store?

If it’s one of our best-sellers or cupcakes, do drop in! If you’ve ordered custom cookies or cupcakes, however, we prefer to bring them to you.

Do you do custom cookie orders?

We live for them! Please contact our cookie concierges at 888-435-3647.

Can you write on cookies or cupcakes while I wait?

No. At this time, all of our sweet artistes are at our Long Island City headquarters. (We’re looking into having an artist-in-residence program, though. Stay tuned.)

Are all products available for delivery?

Everything except mini cupcakes. (They tend to tumble around in transit, and we’d hate to have you open the box on your special occasion to find them less than perfect.)

Can you hold something for me to pick up later?

No. The store is cash and carry.

Is everything made here?

Our primary bakery is in nearby Long Island City. We deliver to the Chelsea store throughout the day.

Which products contain nuts?

Many. If you have allergies, we (sadly) recommend you enjoy products from another bakery. If you simply don’t like nuts, visit the ingredients page on our web site or ask a store salesperson to give you an ingredient card while you browse.

Are your products kosher?

Our packaged cookie and cupcake products labeled with the OU symbol are certified kosher. However, the cookies sold at the counter have come into contact with non-kosher items, like sweet rolls from Balthazar, so they cannot be considered kosher.

Are the cookies priced by the pound or per cookie?

Per cookie. When you spend your day around baked goods, you try to stay away from scales as much as possible…

Are the cookies sugar cookies or butter cookies?

Sugar cookies, made with best-quality butter.

How long do the cupcakes and cookies stay fresh?

Please see here

Do you make the breakfast items?

No. Many of the pastries are from Balthazar. We can’t be the best at everything, so we left breakfast to the experts.

Do you take credit cards?

With pleasure!

Do you accept personal checks?

Nope. Nothing personal…

Do you take traveler’s cheques?

No.

Do you ship to other countries?

If only we could — our cookies would definitely solve world peace.

Do you have any other locations?

Yes! Our Upper Eastside location opened in November 2009.

Is Eleni Greek? Is she a chef?

Both her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christopoulos, are Greek. Her husband is Greek (much to her parents’ delight). Her kids are Greek. While not a chef, she does make excellent baklava, and loves to dress in chef’s clothes whenever possible. She’s simply turned her passion for cookies and dessert into her life. Her philosophy for cookies — and life? “Make batch after batch, and eventually you get it right.”
